Erin started gymnastics at age 6 and competed all the way through her junior year in college. In high school she competed at the elite level, training an average of 30 hours a week. In college, Erin competed for the University of Missouri as mostly an uneven bar specialist. She had a series of knee surgeries to try to fix a chronic problem that ultimately forced her to retire from gymnastics just prior to her senior year of college. While being idle for about a year, Erin decided that she missed the challenge of training and preparing for competitions. Erin’s boyfriend was involved in bodybuilding, and in May 2006 while attending a local show she decided she wanted to compete. Erin’s first competition in figure was, the NJ Gold's Classic, in October of 2006 where she placed 6th. Even though Erin did not place as high as she would have liked, the whole process was really a life changing experience, and she fell in love with the sport. At that point Erin decided she wanted to compete in fitness, and in 2007, won the Bev Francis Atlantic States in fitness, and then earned her pro card at the Team Universe. We worked with Erin at her first pro show, the 2007 Atlantic City Pro, where she placed 6th. So in less than a year this remarkable athlete went from 6th place at the NJ Gold's Classic, to 6th place at the Atlantic City Pro. We can only hope that 2008 will be just as exciting of a year for this 23 old Jersey girl!
Erin attended the University of Missouri and graduated in 2006 with a degree in nutritional science and currently work as a personal trainer and nutrition counselor while finishing a second degree in dietetics and would like to work as a clinical dietician. Erin met her boyfriend Jeff in the summer of 2005 and he has been Erin’s biggest supporter through all of her competitions. Erin says Jeff is truly her best friend, and would not have made it to where she is without him. Erin also expresses her gratitude to her nutritionist/trainer, Robert Samborsky, her parents and Jeff’s father for all of their help and support!
