Myriam Bustamante Bio:

Myriam was born in Mexico City, and practiced gymnastics and dance from the early age of 2. In High School Myriam started mountain climbing and in order to get stronger she started going to the gym. Myriam started competing in bodybuilding throughout Mexico and in 1992 she won the Heavyweight and Overall at the Jr. Nationals (Ms. Perfeccion Juvenil). Myriam continued to do well in competitions. She won the 1994 National Champions for the first time and followed that up with wins in 1997 and 1998. In 1995 she won the Heavy Weight class of the “Mr. Mexico & Ms. Perfeccion”. In 1998 Myriam won her pro card by winning the Heavy Weight class and Overall at the Iberoamerican Championships in Guatemala. After taking a break Myriam competed in her first pro show in 2000, The Jan Tana Classic and took 8th place in the Heavy Weight class. Now living in California and working as a Personal Trainer Myriam says she is very proud of what she has got until now, because nobody from Mexico has ever placed this high before. Myriam is the second Mexican to earn her pro card in the history of bodybuilding and she says she would like to be the first one to qualify for the Ms. Olympia
